This past weekend I debuted my Harley Quinn/Maleficent mashup: Harleficent. It was inspired by artwork by Chris Gugliotti that I discovered about a year ago. I had other things to get done before I could work on it, but I made it as soon as I got the chance (and before I ran out of my favorite red material!)
The cosplay was well-received, except for a little girl at the beginning of the day who told her mother that she didn’t like “the scary clown lady.” And at the end of the day, there was another little girl that screamed bloody murder and kept crying in her mother’s arms. 😯 I’m sorry, kids!
But on the plus side, it earned me one of the three “Judge’s Choice” awards! I also contacted Chris Gugliotti to show him my take on his work, and he thought it was awesome, saying that he can scratch “something cosplayed from something [he] drew” off of his bucket list. 😀
Here is a sneak peek of the outfit, with a proper photo shoot happening in the future. Photos by Killer Pom Production & Design.
