This is a reflection on how crazy this past year has been, how it passed in a flash, and ended on a good note!
I’ve really enjoyed the cons we attended, events that we have helped with, and new people we’ve met through the world of cosplay. I love making the costumes and learning how to do different things. The foam workshop I attended, given by CosAwesome Studios, taught me how to make a helmet for Shredder and gave me the confidence to work with EVA foam. The possibilities of what I can make now is broader than when I first stated sewing costumes during the beginning of 2014. Plus, with every new costume I create, my sewing technique just keeps improving!

In 2014, I had five costumes. This past year, 2015, I had fifteen! The costumes for 2016 have already been started, but I will be re-wearing many of the cosplay costumes that are already made and ready to go. Whether planned, drafted, or almost finished, the cosplay costumes I have worked out for the next year are going to be fun… with a few surprises!
As if all of the costumes and props I had for 2015 for just myself weren’t enough to drive me crazy, there were many more I had made for others, including creating seven of the nine costumes for a group cosplay at Gen Con (which came in second place in the Groups category!) That alone was enough to drive a sane person batty, and I’ll never do that to myself again!
Probably the easiest cosplay was the Roxy outfit from Homestuck, made out of an oversized t-shirt and a Goodwill sweatshirt. The most time consuming probably would have been my torpedo for the Bombshell Harley Quinn. Thank goodness I could talk my husband into doing some of the sanding for me!

Breaking down the numbers for 2015:
- 9 cons
- 6 events
- 6 props
- 29 costumes
- 4 awards
- Multiple photoshoots!

If it wasn’t for the support from my husband, the understanding and interest from my clients at the salon, and anyone who put up with my “in charge, bossy” nature, here’s a huge,
“THANK YOU!“
If it wasn’t for all of you, I wouldn’t be able to go to cons or do what I have grown to thoroughly enjoy. I love sharing what I’ve done and getting others to come along with me into the fun world of cosplay.
On to make 2016 just as memorable!
